Posted by Philothea` @ Wednesday, May 24, 2006 | I'm glued to the TV right now; watching America Idol grand finals - Katherine v.s. Taylor. Though it's not the most exciting show, probably one of the most boring seasons, it was my favorite show for the 2 months while I was in India. Let's just say - I was deprived. There were only a few programmes that kept me entertained and StarWorld happened to be my preferred channel. Of cos, there were those highly entertaining Bollywood films but they fail to captivate me - too cliche, full of exaggerations, far from reality and amazingly, the couples always seem to be engaged in playing 'hard-to-get' games. Haha. It's not exactly that bad. I just don't enjoy it as much but I've learnt to appreciate it better after OSIP. One of the Bollywood director/ freelancer I met at the Sesame India studio explained their objectives of creating such films - they didn't want to make things complicated or to stir up intelligence, but to simply entertain the audience and ensure a good laugh. Humour is essential. I suppose that's how they manifest it through their unique way of story telling. Well, that doesn't apply to all the Bollywood films.
Blogging while watching the TV = random multi-tasking.
I think Katherine McPhee will emerge as the America Idol this round. I'm not in favor of Taylor. I can't agree more that Clay Aiken should be crown as the most worthy American Idol. Katherine's father is so sweet - a proud daddy who's always driven to tears as he watches the performance of his lovely daughter, overwhelmed by joy.
The American idol theme song is so delightful that I leave it to repeat on my itunes playlist.

Sadly, Singapore Idol is such a shame - hilariously lame and it just fails to meet expectations. Anyhow, it did make me LOL at some ridiculous acts of the participants.
Caught DVC yesterday.
The movie, Da Vinci Code, really deserves a low rating. In my opinion, it's not convincing at all, which is good in a manner, cos the book has caused enough confusions and misconceptions. Nevertheless, the animated visual effects is still good.
Okay, can't believe I've went on and on. Shall stop here & get back to work.
My private blog will obviously make more sense.

Posted by Philothea` @ Wednesday, May 17, 2006 | It's strange I feel like blogging today though I'm absolutely lethargic right now, or rather these few days. It's such an awful feeling to be caught in frailty. When I thought I had recovered, I actually got worse moments later with sore eyes, flu, sore throat, headaches and fever taking turns to take their toil on me. Sometimes, they just attack in a mega combo. ):
I did exercise many of your advises to drink plenty of water, consume fruit and rest. But I can't seem to sleep with ease. I really wanted to sleep, but I was forced awake with my entire body system being turned upside down to maximum discomfort and having all sort of weird dreams. At one point, I thought I was gonna die. Lol. Even so, I failed to find the right medication in the middle of the night. My mother reprimanded me for visiting the doctor only at the eleventh hour.
Hopefully, I will be recuperate soon and return to school tomorrow.

The last weekend was full of celebrations - birthdays and mother's day.On Saturday, my mother took an unusual effort to prepare breakfast for me early in the morning before she rushed off to work. Somehow, I managed to hear her birthday greetings subconsciously while I was still zZzZzzZzz.
After Parents' Day church service, Gwen and myself were blindfolded and escorted by QianJin, Eevoon, Val, Ruizhen and Amelia to somewhere. Obviously, we couldn't see where we were heading. It was quite scary and embarrassing at the same time - walking around in that manner in town. I can't imagine if I am really blind. Anyhow, with the blindfolds still attached tightly, we walked from Cuppage Plaza to Love Park. That's quite a distance, isn't it? It's funny how I was able to make the right guess once we arrived at Fish & Co. at the glass house. It's not so tough to tell from the ambience and the aroma of seafood.
Thanks Gwen, Shuz, Jiayi, Xinyi, Wynnie, Jiali, Amelia, Eevoon, Valarie, Ruizhen, Lijun, Daniel, Jerel, Qianjin, Ben, Ian, Michael, Walmond for the lovely dinner despite the hiccups caused by the terrible management of Fish & Co. at the glass house. Plus, the manager who served us that day totally sucks! I should have jotted down his name. Haha. I shall save you from my further complaints for now.
I've yet to thank many others for their sweet birthday greetings/card/song/gift etc.
So, here's a big thank you to Emmeline, Puay, Yiyou, Carmen, Jogina, Ziying, Sinhung, Sherli, Karen, Christine, Glenn, Himyi, Chenglee, Jinqi, Stella, Junyao, Olivine, Leon, 2 of my younger brothers and many others which have blessed me in many ways.
Oh! Not forgetting Moses, my sch director who actually bothered to email me.
My heartfelt appreciation goes out to all who remembered my birthday accompanied with your warmest greetings expressed through various forms. Thanks, really! (:On Sunday, needless to say, my family celebrated mother's day by going out for lunch. We presented her a mango cake; though not as surprising, it was scrumptious anyway and I'm glad we did spend time together.

"You're finally back." My brothers exclaimed once I stepped into the house.
I didn't know being away from home for the past 2 days would earn such a response from them. That's unusual cos they didn't even say anything when I return home from India after 2 months.

Anyway, I find it pretty amusing to be engaged in a MSN group conversation with my family where my father is in Vietnam, my brother & my mother were siting right beside each other using seperate computers in the living room whereas I was in my room. The conversation didn't last for long.

Mum: I'm bored.
Bro: ..(-_-")
Me: Talk lor.
Mummy, are u working this saturday?
Mum: When's your last paper?
Bro: My exams end next week.

Posted by Philothea` @ Monday, May 08, 2006 | Finally, I am reviving my somewhat evanescent blog after leaving it to rot for the past 15 days. Accept my apologies for such a late response. I'm already back in Singapore, alive and well though it's not reflected here earlier. It had been a happening 2 weeks since I returned home that I don't even know where I shall begin with right now.
A new school semester has begun with the implementation of the block teaching system. I'm not sure how this change will really benefit us. Anyway, I've not a single week of holiday till end of September! *Sobz* :( I am trying to clear all my CUs so I've no choice but to take up some diploma electives that I deem as useless. As much as I am displeased with the subjects they offer this round, it's not like I can alter anything. Oh wells.
I ought to be more punctual, seriously. It's horrible to be late for school every morning.
Back to ministry - I'm so thankful for Puay, JiaYi, HuiYing & ZiXin's help and dedication especially when I am away.
My house is still a shambles. One of my brothers still gets on my nerves every now and then.
I dread the thirteen of May. It's a day I no longer value ever since last year. Don't ask me why.
Some key points shared during Pastor Jeff's most recent sermon: Be humble, gentle and patient. What really struck me was to live a life worthy of God's call.
Wanted to upload the OSIP video to youtube.com as requested by my friends but I realised the file size is too huge and I can't seem to reduce it.
Caught 2 pretty good movies this week -
Missions Impossible 3 with XiaoHui, Abel, Eugene, Siyuan, Alex, Glenn, Samson, Jason, Justin, Jacky and Chris right on the day it was being released.
Paradise Now, an artsy movie which had won many film festivals awards.
And I didn't abandon my blog afterall.
I can't help being so random and vague at this moment in time. I'm falling asleep.
